A new advanced high-capacity system developed with the latest state-of the-art technology to perform multiple security controls simultaneously and automatically: flatwheel detection, wheel outof roundness detection, wagon imbalance detection, detection of skew bogies and flanging as well as control weighing of all passing traffic up to 250 km/h.
Specifically for this system design are very powerful electronics, which is the key attaining reliable results and to detect, for example, flat wheels in their early stages. The system collects up to 240,000 samples per second.
Unique in this Tamtron Systems Oy system is that each wheel is monitored and measured CONTINUOUSLY during several wheel diameter lengths thus enabling the system to make a more reliable analysis of the vertical forces between the wheel and the rail.
Load cells mounted on the sleepers are actually double load cells: one load cell at each side of the rail. This makes it possible to measure lateral forces and thus detect skew boggies.
EU-wide patent has been applied for Scalex Wild (EP patent pending no. 04396039.2).
The system is fast and easy to install to existing standard rails and sleepers. No foundation work whatsoever is needed.
All passing traffic, locomotives and wagons, as well as the number of axles and wheels, are automatically recognised.
Alarm levels, for example flat lengths in mm’s, can be freely chosen by the user. The system is easily integratable in to the customer’s own larger IT systems.
